After an extended hiatus Parking Block with two new releases for the holiday season. Paintings, illustrations and words of wisdom fill Lisa Romero’s “Connections.” Jeremy Tubb’s “Wherever god strikes me down” features photographs of dazed cross country travels and confused late nights.

Over the next few weeks a number of past and future members of the Parking Block roster will be out and about showing art. This Saturday you can check out Brad Westcott’s work up in the Never Rest show in Vancouver.  A little closer to home, Tim Pigott is a part of the “Text, Drugs and Rock n Roll show at Maxwell Colette on Friday December, 2nd. You can also check out Alex Cohen and Oscar Arriola at the “Hold Fast To Dreams” show at Believe Inn. Make a night of it!

Next week is the start of the holiday shopping frenzy. Even if you don’t buy a zine from Parking Block this year try and support at least one artist in your holiday purchases. Help people make things happen!

It’s here!

The second annual Chicago zinefest is this weekend! It looks like this may the last chance to pick up a few of Parking Block’s historic releases because after this weekend they’ll be gone. Stop by if you can. Say hello. Trade some zines. Bring art. Bring photographs. Bring jokes.

Desert of the Future - Tim Pigott

Besides Zinefest there are a few other events in the near and immediate future that involve friends and family.

Friday night you can check out the always ready steady Art Dump’s take on the classic movie poster at the Post Family’s space.

Saturday is the big blowout for Isaac’s new Stereo board and shirts at DLXSF.

On the horizon is Dan Boulton’s solo show of Southbank Photographs. I’m look forward to visiting this iconic spot during the summer.

The next round of zines is starting to come together.

Patience is always appreciated.

There has been a bit of a delay with the posting process thanks to this unfortunate occurrence and with that delay finally ending it’s time to roll out the new releases. First the final 2 publications of 2010: A Personal Dinner Invitation by Alberto Aguilar and Listening To The Lower Frequencies by Tim Pigott. And hot off the printer here are the first 2 zines for 2011: Inland Architect by Christopher Smith and Over and Out by Brad Westcott. These have been added to the online store or you can pick them up in person at Quimby’s or you can see all of Parking Block’s zines at this year’s Chicago Zine Fest March 25th – 26th. Stop by for a sticker and a high five.

What’s next?
